The Waterkeeper Alliance knows that clean water creates a healthier planet. Water covers 71% of the Earth and makes up 60% of our bodies. Yet 20% of the world does not have clean water. Every year, 2 million people die from a lack of clean drinking water or diseases spread by dirty water. The Death of 90% of large fish species can be attributed to water pollution and in the next 20 years, clean water may plummet by 30%.

There’s plenty of clean water because water will purify itself.
FACT
Water does purify itself, but people have polluted water so much, that today, 1.1 billion people do not have clean water, and 2.6 billion do not have basic sanitation.
